TikTok user gets free Starbucks for life - Upworthy

Tik Tok user Jontay Black visited Starbucks at an Airport last month and ordered a Strawberry Lemonade. The barista was new to the role and was having trouble completing the order.

Jontay said the drink was “nothing fancy,” but the barista was having a hard time getting the drink right. He says she basically kept messing up the order and keeping Jontay waiting. Some people might have complained as the new barista struggled, but Jontay kept calm and made supportive, encouraging remarks; “I was just being polite, like, it’s OK, everybody has bad days, because I’ve been having a bad day myself.”

What Jontay didn’t know was that a Starbucks exec was watching the situation. When Jontay finally got his order, the exec approached him to say, “I’m an exec from Starbucks and I watched your experience from beginning to end, and you were so polite with our people that I’ve got something for you.” The exec handed Jontay a Starbucks gift card for life.

A Starbucks for Life cardholder gets one free drink or food item free per day for 30 years (the approximate retail value of a Starbucks for life card is £46,000.)

Even though Jontay himself was having a bad day, he remained calm and polite with the Starbucks employee, expecting nothing in return but a Strawberry lemonade. Instead, he got an amazing reward for his kindness.
