First tell the children this is John McFall and he has a new job. Can anyone guess what his new job is?

British Paralympian John McFall has been selected to train as an astronaut by the European Space Agency. He will be the first astronaut with a disability. John will work with designers and engineers to se if he can become the first person with a disability to go in to space.

John McFall is a Paralympic sprinter. He says he hopes to inspire others and show that "science is for everyone and potentially space is for everyone."

- what is an astronaut?
- What is a Paralympian? (what is a sprinter?)
- why do you think before now there have been no astronauts with disabilities?
- How does this show the world is changing?
- Some people might think a person with disabilities would not be able to be an astronaut - what you would you say to them?
- a disability is just another way we are different- it means a person's body works in a different way - we all have differences; what other differences do we have?
- John says, "Space is for everyone", what does he mean?
- what can we learn from John?
- Why is this about No Outsiders?
