What do you think the story is, why do you think this made the news- what might be unusual about this story? Philadelphia zoo has welcomed four new baby hatchlings from a pair of tortoises. The babies are Galapagos tortoises and are an endangered species.  What is a hatching? What does endangered species mean? The mother is a first-time mum. The reason this has made the news is because she is over 100 years old. The mum is the oldest resident in the zoo and this is the first time in 150 years that the zoo has had tortoise hatchlings. The tortoise, called Mommy, has lived at the zoo since 1932 and is thought to be 97 years old. The father is called Abrazzo and is 96 years old. Do you think 97 is too old to be a mum? Mommy laid a clutch of 16 eggs in November last year and the zoo is hoping more of the eggs will hatch in the coming weeks. All the hatchlings ...

Bosu Body Bar is a restaurant in Manchester that have started leaving bags of free food outside at closing time for homeless people to eat.  Staff are also encouraging customers to donate warm clothes to go with the food. What is a homeless person? Why do you think the restaurant is doing that? Why warm clothes too? On their Facebook page the restaurant has posted, "If you see anyone on the streets of Manchester who look hungry, let them know where they can find a meal in a bag."
