Is that how people usually compete in the hurdles? Where are the other hurdle competitors in the race? Jolien Boumkwo is a shot-putter from Belgium.  Jolien stepped in to join the hurdle race at the European Athletics Team Championships because the athlete who usually competed in the hurdles was injured. Jolien knew that even if she came last, her country would receive one point, so she decided to join the race. Her performance went viral on social media. Jolien said, "I thought I would take one for the team. I didn't think about it, I just went for it."
